Job Listing: The Grande Prairie Public School District is a thriving school district at the heart of the Peace Region in Alberta, Canada. We offer the only fully publicly funded String Program in Alberta, taught exclusively during the school day (no evening rehearsals are required). We are currently seeking two (2) Full Time Temporary String Orchestra teachers for grades 4-9: 1. February 28 - June 30, 2010 with possibility of renewal of contract for the 2010-2011 school year 2. 2010-2011 school year Qualifications • a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate • a degree in Education • a recent clean criminal record check • preference will be given to applicants who have studied at least one string instrument, who have a degree of competence on that instrument coupled with prior playing in or teaching an orchestra.
