It’s not every day that the double bassist is offered a
solo, but chances are high that the ones that are will be interested in
discovering the signature Arco sound of Belcanto bass strings in solo
tuning.
Prototypes of the Belcanto Solo Bass Strings were introduced at the
International Bassist Society (ISB) convention this past spring, and a
select group of top bassists have since tested them out to great
acclaim. Rob Nairn, president-elect of the International Society of
Bassists and professor of double bass at Pennsylvania State University,
said “They provide a darker, richer, fuller tone than other solo
strings I’ve used. They are exceptionally even, really respond
well to a wide variety of colors and textures with the bow, and project
really well making the job of a tiring concerto that much
easier.”
Belcanto Bass Strings have established themselves as a string of
choice for many Arco-stylists. In addition, Belcanto features
soft-to-the-touch, easy-to-play strings with specially twisted steel
rope core for quick settle in time and the ability to stay in tune.
From bowed to fretted, orchestral to jazz, the strings upon which
serious players rely are still made by hand, to the highest standards,
in the heart of Vienna. Thomastik-Infeld is proud to be celebrating its
90th Anniversary. Thomastik-Infeld brands include
Dominant, Spirocore, Vision, Belcanto and Superflexible.
Thomastik-Infeld is distributed by Connolly Music Company in the
U.S. Please visit us at www.connollymusic.com for more
