ASTA's Collegiate Roundtable

Mission Statement

The roundtable is committed to the development, support, and enhancement of school string teaching in the United States by:

encouraging the development of string teacher educator positions at institutions involved in music teacher education;
identifying and recruiting successful string teachers to become string teacher educators and researchers through doctoral preparation;
mentoring novice string teacher educators in the tenure process;
supporting and enhancing preservice and inservice teacher education in policy and practice;
identifying and disseminating best practices in the profession;
developing a practical research agenda toward the above ends.
