ASTA Launches
Website Redesign
Fairfax, Va. ---- The American String Teachers
Association (ASTA) announces the re-launch of its website, astaweb.com, on September 10.
while it has the same address… its appearance, both visually and
structurally, has undergone a revival. The redesigned site elevates STA
to a new level of service. “Our members have been telling us for
quite a while that our site needed to be updated and more user-friendly.
I am confident that we have achieved these goals and more,” said
Donna Hale, executive director.
The look and feel of the site is
sophisticated and clean with rich color tones. A different string
instrument appears at the top of each category page. Much of the content
is the same but it has been streamlined for quicker access. The new site
is also easier to update, thereby insuring freshness and eliminating
outdated material. Navigation between different parts of the site is
more intuitive.
Added features to complement the
abundant resources are drop-down menus with category previews, a search
button, and rotating sponsor banners. The sponsor banners will appear at
the top of each page. This addition, just for String Industry Council
members, creates income opportunity for the association while giving the
council another way to drive customers to their own sites.
“It’s a win-win for everybody,” Hale stated. An
archive is “under construction” with completion set for the
fall. ASTA will also have the capability to monitor traffic on each
page. “This will prove quite useful for evaluation
purposes.”
The renovation was put on the fast track
last spring when the ASTA Board of Directors approved the money needed
to overhaul the more than 280 pages on the site. “Our board was
very supportive and encouraged us to proceed and set September as a
launch date,” said Hale. “They understood the magnitude of
this task and knew it would basically take time, money, and the right
firm to produce a site that would meet our members’ needs. We are
confident that the redesigned site will exceed
expectations.”
The American String Teachers
Association is committed to advancing string education and performance
in the United
States and around the world. Its
11,500 members include educators, performers, string industry
representatives, students, and string enthusiasts.
