Caroline Karl
Caroline Karl is a graduate of The
University of Michigan School of Music-Ann Arbor (B.M.) where she
studied cello with Jerome Jelinek and music education with Robert
Culver. She holds a M.M. in music education from the University of
Georgia-Athens. After receiving her Bachelor’s, Caroline taught
orchestra in the Atlanta Public Schools where she co-directed an honor
orchestra. From there, she returned to her home town of Livonia,
Michigan to direct the Franklin High School Orchestras. In 2006,
Caroline relocated to Reno where she currently directs the orchestras at
North Valleys High School, O’Brien Middle School, and teaches the
Reno Philharmonic’s Celebrate Strings after school violin program.
During her fifteen years of public school teaching, she has taught
orchestra, band, and general music to students in grades K-12 and has
been honored with inclusion in Marquis’ Who’s Who in
American Education. Caroline, a certified Suzuki teacher, is an
active member in MENC/NMEA, ASTA, and SAA.
