Lisa Stang Goldman
Lisa Stang Goldman has been the Orchestra Director grades
4-12 in the Beachwood City Schools since 1999. Lisa has a B.M Ed and M. M.Ed. from Cincinnati Conservatory in
addition to graduate studies in viola and Eurhythmics at Carnegie Mellon
University.
Lisa did both short and long term Suzuki training and apprenticed at the
Cleveland Institute of Music.
Previously, Mrs.
Goldman taught violin in the Suzuki programs in the preparatory
departments at the Cleveland Institute of Music where she was
additionally the conductor of the preparatory orchestras. She has taught
in the preparatory department at Cincinnati Conservatory and was
director of the Suzuki program at the Fairmount Fine Arts Center. She
has taught strings at Cleveland School of the Arts, String Method
Classes at Case Western Reserve University and has taught violin and/or
conducted at numerous workshops/clinics. Lisa enjoys performing with a wide variety
of venues and has been a violinist with the Cleveland POPS orchestra
since 1999.
Lisa has been a
clinician, adjudicator and/or speaker at workshops and meetings on a
local to national level including SAA, The International Suzuki Festival
and OMEA. She has served as an orchestra mentor for MENC and has
published over a dozen articles in the area of positive student/parent
motivation in the American Suzuki Journal.
