Aleck Belcher, double bass

Aleck is a rising senior at Carmel High School. He holds both orchestral and soloistic achievements, participating in the 2015 New York String Orchestra Seminar and winning 1st Prize at the 2015 International Society of Bassists Convention Young Bassists Competition. In his free time, Aleck enjoys sleeping in and taking walks.

Sarah Hall, violin
Arlington, WA

School: Private Study
Singe age 10, Sarah Hall has appeared as soloist with numerous orchestras in the Western United States and been awarded first place in local and national competitions. She also teaches a small studio of violin and piano students and is devoted to inspire them with her excellence and artistry.


Brian Hong, violin
Fairfax Station, VA
Teacher: Donald Weilerstein
School: New England Conservatory of Music
Brian Hong is currently a senior at the New England Conservatory of Music, where he studies violin performance with Donald Weilerstein. As a soloist, Mr. Hong has performed with orchestras such as the Fairfax Symphony, the Chesapeake Orchestra, the US Army Orchestra, and the National Philharmonic, and has won top prizes in many major US Competitions, including first prize in the national finals of the Music Teacher’s National Association Competition in New York City.

Javier Iglesias Martin, cello

School: New England Conservatory
23- year-old Spanish cellist is a 3rd prize winner at the 2015 “Villa de Llanes” International Competition, and 1st prize winner of the 2014 Baltimore Music Club Competition and Mary Graham Lasley Competition. His teachers include Amit Peled at the Peabody Institute, and Paul Katz at the New England Conservatory. Javier plays on a Peter Goodfellow cello generously provided by the Virtu Foundation.

Erin Pitts, viola
Atlanta, GA
Teacher: Marilyn Seelman
School: Chamblee High School
Violist Erin Pitts has performed on From The Top; placed fourth in the Johansen International Strings Competition; and won concerto competitions, performing with symphonies including the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. She was principal violist with the ASYO for 3 years, and has been in All-State Orchestra for 7 years.

Duncan Steele, viola

17 year old Duncan Steele has won awards from the Music Festival in Honor of Confucius, the Depaul Concerto Festival, and the Chicago Youth Orchestras. He was concert master in the Chicago Concert Orchestra and has had masterclasses with Mimi Zweig, Victor Danchenko, Almita Vamos, and Atar Arad.
