ASTA Membership

Everyone who believes in the value of String and Orchestra Music benefits from ASTA! As so many of us have seen, playing a string instrument CAN change a life, and ASTA is actively seeking members who want to make a difference!

ASTA changes lives through music, and you, as a teacher, performer, or string student, do that on a daily basis. When you add your voice, your experience, and your expertise to our community, you participate in a nationwide effort to make life better for everyone, but especially the kids.

"Because ASTA has played such a huge role in my life, providing amazing resources and connecting me with outstanding teachers and performers who have served as mentors, providing a voice for advocacy and increasing opportunities to play string instruments, my ASTA membership remains a priority in how my family chooses to invests its dollars." - Dr. Stephen Benham

Member Benefits

"Of all the music organizations I belong to, ASTA feels most like 'home' because it satisfies the most needs" - Judy Palac

"I joined ASTA as soon as I graduated from Eastman School of Music in 1969. I have found my membership to be an incredible source of inspiration, motivation and string community connections. I joined because I felt it was my responsibility as a teacher to be the very best at my craft. As I am retired now, I still have the fire instilled in me throughout my teaching career. My favorite ASTA moments were many...taking part in the OHIO State String Workshops were highlights, also the first ASTA Conference, my acceptance of my orchestra to be in the National Orchestra Festival" -  Andrea Tolmich
