• encouraging the development of string teacher educator positions at institutions involved in music teacher education;
• identifying and recruiting successful string teachers to become string teacher educators and researchers through doctoral preparation;
• mentoring novice string teacher educators in the tenure process;
• supporting and enhancing preservice and inservice teacher education in policy and practice;
• identifying and disseminating best practices in the profession;
• developing a practical research agenda toward the above ends.
